What is the difference between low temperature films, heat activated and copolymer?
It is important to know your choices in adhesives when deciding on your finishing solution. D&K Coating Technologies offers three adhesive systems. A low melt adhesive is beneficial when laminating fragile images (inkjet and on-demand printers). Low temperature film wets out at 20°- 25°F lower than conventional polyester and they are ideal for wide-format applications. Copolymer is an all purpose adhesive that provides a low melting point, good functionality and clarity. Typical laminating temperatures range between 200°-250°F. Heat activated films wet out as low as 180°-200°F and often provide UV protection against fading caused by indoor lighting and indirect sunlight.
