Lamination FAQs

12)  What specific precautions should be taken to reduce the curl in laminated sheets?

13)  Is there a curing time involved with lamination?

14)  The film isn't sticking to my sheets. What's the problem?

There could be a few things going on here. There might not be enough heat to fully activate the adhesive. Check your temperature setting to see that the machine's temperature is set to an appropriate level for the film you're using. Next, check your nip pressure setting - it may have to be increased. As you know, thermal lamination is a combination of heat and pressure. Other possible reasons for inadequate adhesion are a worn out nip roller or too much wax in the ink. If it's the latter, try one of the following:

1. Try our SuperStick® film. Designed specifically for hard to stick to substrates, SuperStick® will usually do the trick.

2. Increase the machine temperature.

3. Increase the pressure.
