D&K Coating Technologies, Inc. is a sister company of D&K Group Inc., a worldwide manufacturer of extrusion coated thermal films and trademark laminating equipment. D&K Coating Technologies specializes in custom coating & toll coating of high-tech pressure sensitive applications utilizing state-of-the-art slot die and gravure coating capabilities.
Packaging & Shipping Shipping is prepaid by consignee. All packaging features D&K's standard roll labeling. After the product leaves the plant, D&K will fax or e-mail a master roll shipping list.
Raw Materials D&K Coating Technologies works with clients to offer a variety of coating options:
- D&K provides all raw materials - Customer provides all raw materials - Combination of D&K and customer-supplied raw materials Specification: 40” OD; 2000# max. weight.
Process Control D&K Coating Technologies offers state-of-the art custom coating process control. D&K's industry-leading coaters feature fiber optic PLC controls that ensure a consistent coating thickness profile throughout the manufacturing process. PLC controls regulate all coating operations including tension, speed, temperature, air flows, oven pressure, rate of evaporation, and roll size. An integrated beta scanner also continuously measures coat weight application and allows for precision adjustments to the coating die. Quality Assurance After a raw material has been specified by the client, D&K accepts deliveries with a supplier's Certificate of Analysis. Raw materials are also randomly checked for appropriate quality characteristics. This ensures consistent product performance that meets all client specifications.
Final Product Sampling D&K performs quality assurance testing on every master roll until process capability has been demonstrated. After process capability has been confirmed (typically after 30 master rolls), QA testing will be performed on every third master roll.
Typical Master Roll Testing
Master rolls are tested for adhesive and physical properties including peel, shear, thickness, gloss, etc. A certificate of analysis and a yield/material inventory report will be available within seven days after a run. Roll Reporting Three cross web samples from the end of each roll are retained and stored for two years. Each roll includes a roll report and a 1D or 2D defect map in the packing list. |
